WHAT: South Louisiana Lemonade Day

WHERE: Various Locations around Baton Rouge (see map)
WHY: This is a free, community-wide educational initiative to teach children how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. Kids learn to create budgets, secure investors, set profit-making goals, repay investors, and give back a portion of the proceeds to the charity of their choice. Each child will follow a spend, save, share game plan – spending 1/3 of their lemonade stand profits on anything they want, putting 1/3 in a savings account and donating 1/3 to the charity of their choice.
On May 11 and 12, 2012, we will celebrate the exciting debut of Lemonade Day in South Louisiana! Youth from the Big Buddy Program will join in the excitement and have lemonade stands throughout the Baton Rouge area. We encourage you to visit a stand, buy a refreshing glass of lemonade and help with the valuable learning opportunity for our youth.
