Have we overlooked you?

Overview

The Big Buddy Program is reaching out to the entire Baton Rouge and surrounding communities to ask the question, Have We Overlooked You? During preparations for Dancing for Big Buddy 2012, the signature fundraiser entertaining over 3,000 attendees, we asked ourselves if we have overlooked someone in the community who would love to dance for Big Buddy?

Debuting in 2007, Dancing for Big Buddy is modeled after the hit ABC TV show, Dancing with the Stars.  In our local version, community celebrities agree to dance in a friendly completion against their fellow community leaders to raise money for the Big Buddy Program (www.bigbuddyprogram.org).  Star Dancers practice prior to the event to be held, this year, on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Each year the Big Buddy office is flooded with calls from members of our community asking to dance in this premier event.  Event organizers this year realized that we may be overlooking some quality performers and fundraisers that have not been asked to Dance for Big Buddy.

Here is your chance to Dance for Big Buddy.

Between December 4, 2011 and January 4, 2012, the Big Buddy Program invites you to submit a 45 second video demonstrating why you are the perfect choice to Dance for Big Buddy in the 2012 event.  Remember, this is a FUNdraiser and dance skills are not a dominating criteria for acceptance.  Your 45 second video will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished judges who will make the decision based on the presentation in the video and your ability to be creative and genuine in answering the questions below.

Eligibility

To be eligible to compete in the “Have We Overlooked You” Campaign each person appearing in the video must, at the time the video is submitted:

  • Not be younger than 18 years old.
  • Be a legal resident of, and physically residing in, the Baton Rouge or surrounding communities (within a 50 mile radius).
  • Not be an employee of the Big Buddy Program, a board member, or a member of the household or immediate family (mother, father, sister, brother, child) of such employee or board member.

To be eligible to submit a video entry (thereby becoming the “Submitter”), in addition to the Dancer eligibility requirements above, the Submitter must also:

  • The submitted video must be your original work, and must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
  • Video submission must not exceed 2 GB in size or it will be blocked from loading and therefore the entry will be ineligible.

  • All video submissions must be submitted between the campaign dates of December 4, 2011 and January 4, 2012.
