Dancing for Big Buddy is a creative fundraising event that will support the programmatic efforts of the Big Buddy Program. Modeled after the hit ABC television show, our local event will feature many of our community’s leaders and prominent citizens as they present their ballroom dance performances on the event night, May 5, 2012, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on LSU’s campus, the birth site of the Big Buddy Program.

WBRZ anchors Sylvia Weatherspoon and John Pastorek will host the festivities. Smiley Anders will serve as a celebrity judge for the evening.
Limited preferred seating at tables of 10 is available on the floor of the arena at a cost of $2500/table, or $250 per seat; and general admission seating for the upper level will be sold for $10.00 per seat.
The Dancing for Big Buddy event will feature the dancers and their dance partners; entertainment by local performing artists, heavy hors’ devours, and libations. We are counting on the family and friends of the dancers, businesses and the general community to support this phenomenal event that will serve as the financial source for the Big Buddy Program, which provides positive role models and learning experiences to a population of children who would otherwise lack access to these resources.
There are opportunities for companies and businesses to purchase sponsorship packets for this event and we anticipate the increase of the audience size with confirmation of any of the local and national celebrity participation.
