13th Annual Day of the Mentor
Big Buddy will host the 13th Annual Day of the Mentor, Friday, October 28, 2011 from 8:00am to 2:00pm at the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators, 5550 Florida Boulevard in Mid-City Baton Rouge. (Google Directions | Printable Directions)
Have you ever thought about becoming a “Big Buddy Mentor?” Here’s your chance to try it out. The day begins with breakfast, followed by a visit to the mentor’s workplace, and concludes with an inspiring luncheon.
The theme for the day is “Be A Mentor and help them get there.” “There” is success – whatever success is to that young person. It could be college, a trade school or entering the work force. A caring Mentor is one step in the journey to “get there.”
Itinerary
| 8:00am | Big Buddies arrive for sign-in, packet pick-up and opening program |
| 9:00am | Little Buddies meet Big Buddies at breakfast |
| 9:00-12:00pm | Buddies spend time together at the Big Buddy’s workplace |
| 12:00-1:30pm | Buddies attend Day of the Mentor luncheon |
| 1:30pm | Big Buddies receive commitment cards and special recognition |
| Little Buddies say goodbye |
